Welcome to my first Resturaunt Fun post where I share little insights and experiences that I hope add extra fun into your life. Who wouldn’t benefit from a little extra fun?

While in NYC in March we made a last minute decision to go to Morimoto‘s restaurant and it was the best decision we made the whole trip. Not only was the food delicious and beautiful, the whole dinner was an experience down to the restroom (which had a toilet lid that lifting when you walked in and a seat that was heated.) I hear these are all over Japan but this was a first for me and a fun touch!

Jordan and I love to try cocktails at new restaurants. They can be a great creative experience to try something new and it inspires our own creations. Morimoto’s has unique and yummy cocktails. Jordan had a sesame raspberry cocktail and I had a lychee fruit cocktail. Both were like nothing we have ever had before and were delectable!

Jordan and I love to get a feel for a restaurant and chef when we go to a new place. The best way to do this is to opt for the ‘Chef’s Tasting’ menu. This is usually a more expensive option but completely worth it. In addition to incredible food, the tasting menu adds a new element of fun to the experience. At Morimoto’s this is called the morimoto omakase. Our adventure included sushi, live diver scallop, lobster, wagyu steak, and yam ice cream, to name a few. Most chef’s tasting menus change frequently so do not expect to receive the exact food in these pictures below, but please enjoy a little preview of the meal we enjoyed!
